I was born in Russia. I lived in Northern Caucasus, the area known as Kuban, in Moscow, and spend almost two years in Belorussia during my military service. As a result, there are three places in Former USSR where I feel myself at home.
After the army I studied film-making at All-Soviet Institute of Cinematography, known among Russians as VGIK. After VGIK I worked at the MOSFILM STUDIOS...
It happened so that I changed my occupation pretty dramatically. After doing all kinds of stuff eventually I went to the graduate school (MBA) at Georgia Tech and ended up with concentration in Management of the Information Systems. And now, I am working with Information Systems, which is as far from film-making as it can be...
Classical (Bach and Glinka are my favorite composers), Rock, Celtic music (mostly Irish
and Scottish), Russian folk music (particularly Cossack
songs, may be because I'm of Cossack blood), Byzantine vocal music, traditional
music of China, Tibet, Native Americans, African Pygmies, Australian aborigines - in a
word, I like authentic music, and the older it is - the better.
